NFL Week 1 Takeaways
NFL Football is back and between “moments of unity” and Quarterback debuts, there’s a lot to unpack. Here’s what I noticed during Week 1:
Washington Hires League’s First Black Team President
The Washington Football Team has named Jason Wright as their new team president. This news is just the latest in the abundance of offseason changes that the team has undergone. Wright is the first African American team president in the NFL and at 38 years old, he is also the youngest.
NFL Top 100: Is Anyone Surprised?
NFL and Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes is taking names and plotting his revenge after last night’s top players were announced on the NFL Top 100 show. Mahomes was named #4 by his NFL peers, which made him the 3rd best Quarterback. Russell Wilson came in at #2 and League MVP runner up Lamar Jackson topped the chart as the best player in the league.
Tua Time in Miami
Former Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins have agreed to a $30.28M contract with a signing bonus of $19.6M. This contract is interesting because it is fully guaranteed. The deal is for four years.
LIV: Beneath the Lights
