NFL Top 100: Is Anyone Surprised?
NFL and Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes is taking names and plotting his revenge after last night’s top players were announced on the NFL Top 100 show. Mahomes was named #4 by his NFL peers, which made him the 3rd best Quarterback. Russell Wilson came in at #2 and League MVP runner up Lamar Jackson topped the chart as the best player in the league.
Mahomes’ placement in the Top 100 came as a shock to some, but most NFL experts believe that it’s still Lamar Jackson’s time to shine. This is where lots of football fans would beg to differ. Some think that Russell Wilson should have been #1 and others believe that it should have been Mahomes. Overall, this is shaping up to be a worthy debate for years to come.
This isn’t the first time that fans and players have disagreed with Top 100 ratings, but people seem to forget that the players are the ones who voted and this year, they believe that Lamar Jackson is the best player in the league. He’s a great QB and has proven so many people wrong over the last two years and his peers realize that.
It’s great to have three African American quarterbacks rated in the Top 5 by their fellow professional athletes. All three of them have their individual strengths and it wouldn’t be much of a surprise if they remain at the top for years to come.
