LIV: Beneath the Lights
Tomorrow will mark the first Super Bowl meeting between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are a slight 1 point favorite over the Niners to win the big game. If you are looking for an article that tells you who will win and by how much, you are in the wrong place.
After witnessing everything that has happened this season, it’s probably better for everyone to put predictions on the back burner because the 100th NFL season has been full of surprises. One of the biggest surprises was the fact that the Kansas City Chiefs are representing the AFC in the Super Bowl instead of the Baltimore Ravens. Patrick Mahomes and his Chiefs have quietly emerged as the Super Bowl favorite, even though the margin is slim.
The reigning MVP is expected to put on a show tomorrow night against the 49ers. If the game turns into a shootout between the two star QBs, there is a very great chance that the game will end in favor of the Chiefs. We need no introduction to the unprecedented talent that Patrick Mahomes possesses, but if his team wants to come out on top, their defense better have a game plan for their opponents’ running and receiving cores.
On the other hand, Jimmy Garoppolo isn’t exactly known as being a QB that throws 50+ passes per game, which can be attributed to the run game that his team has established. Just because Garoppolo doesn’t usually throw the ball to win games doesn’t mean that he can’t. Let’s not forget that he has talented players like George Kittle and Deebo Samuel to throw to.
If the Niners defense can hold their own against the Chiefs offense, tomorrow’s game will be one for the books. Two great QBs. Two great coaches. Both teams have beat the odds to get to Super Bowl 54 and regardless of the outcome, it’s shaping up to be a great game.
